CFL Announces Nerve Center Return

Published on June 25, 2013 under Canadian Football League (CFL) News Release

TORONTO - On the eve of the start of the Canadian Football League's 2013 season, Discovery's NERVE CENTER puts the CFL in the spotlight as the new season begins with an extraordinary look at the inner workings of TSN's incredibly complex live broadcast of the 100th Grey Cup. Premiering on Wednesday, June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT and 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT, NERVE CENTER's third season begins at the high-pressure moment of peak operations - on the field, and in the control room - mounting Canadian football's pinnacle event. As with every episode of NERVE CENTER, the Grey Cup episode follows the key personnel that drive the momentum from behind the scenes, then reveals over the course of a working day how everything interconnects seamlessly - and sometimes fails - to deliver the goods, from fumbles to touchdowns.

In the NERVE CENTER: "The 100th Annual Grey Cup" episode, Rogers Centre is gearing up for one of the most exciting sporting events in North America - the 100th Grey Cup on TSN. While all eyes are focused on the football, NERVE CENTER delves deep into the amazing technology, coordination, and talent that work tirelessly to prepare for - and pull off - the live broadcast on TSN. In the high-adrenaline world of live event broadcasting - there are no second chances. It takes more than 200 skilled technicians nearly six days to convert Rogers Centre into a full HD, live television broadcast studio. Deadlines can't be missed and decisions are split second.
