Lawrenceville, GA - December 23, 2006 - "I am Gwinnett" team members of the Gwinnett Neighborhood Leadership Institute (GNLI) are pleased to partner with students of Central Gwinnett High School. "I am Gwinnett" is a community campaign to enhance citizenry involvement in the county and embrace diversity through leadership, education, and sense of community
Central Gwinnett students are asked to participate by getting to know all nationalities represented at their school and create an expression of their diversity. They are also required to define, understand, and teach local government terms to promote citizenship as future leaders of the county.
"Our team is very excited to work with the students of Central Gwinnett," states GNLI member, Akilah Townsend, "They are located in the heart of Gwinnett and can give a fresh prospective to community relations." Central Gwinnett student leader, LeeAnn Chisolm adds, "The "I am Gwinnett" campaign is an amazing opportunity for us to express how we can contribute to the positive growth of our county!"
