Celebrate Our Wonderful Sport Tonight with Our Virtual Native Heritage Night

June 3, 2020 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) - Georgia Swarm News Release

We at the Swarm are honoring the roots of lacrosse and its historical impact on Indigenous Peoples with our Virtual Native Heritage Night! We've partnered up with Harrah's Cherokee Casino and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to bring you a fun and educational night showcasing lacrosse's impact on our players and discussing how the players use the sport as medicine.

Check out a video of Swarm Native players discussing lacrosse's history and cultural significance, how it has impacted their lives, and how they use the game to inspire future generations.

Then check out our Instagram tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET for an IG Live with Lyle Thompson and Richard G. Sneed, Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. They'll have an enlightening conversation about their tribes and cultural sports that will be a can't-miss event!

Finally, visit to sign up for a chance to win a special Cherokee-themed Swarm jersey. One lucky fan will win this beautiful jersey with a custom design honoring the Cherokee sport of stickball that features the letters for "Cherokee," - ᏣᎳᎩ (pronounced Tsa-la-gi) - proudly displayed on the logo.

We'll see you tonight as we all celebrate the roots of our great sport of lacrosse and honor the Indigenous Tribes who brought it to us!
