Cedar Rapids, IA (February 3, 2004) As part of the Junior Achievement Groundhog Job Shadow, the Cedar Rapids River Raiders were proud to be host to two Excelsior Middle School students on Friday January 29. During their time at the River Raiders office, the students were able to observe General Manager Sean McLaughlin and Director of Sales/ Assistant Coach Kenyon Murray as they performed their off season duties in preparation for the upcoming season. They were able to ask questions about the team as well as get first hand experience on some of the duties associated with putting together a successful, professional minor league basketball franchise.
The River Raiders will start its inaugural 30 game regular season (15 home games) on Friday April 16, 2004 at 7:15 vs. the Oklahoma Storm at the U.S. Cellular Center in downtown Cedar Rapids. The River Raiders are an expansion franchise of the 19 year-old United States Basketball League. Season tickets are on sale now!
