Cedar Rapids Defeats Ohio 1-0 In Overtime Thriller
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets and Cedar Rapids RoughRiders needed more than 60 minutes to decide game two of the Clark Cup playoffs on Wednesday at the Dispatch Ice Haus. The RoughRiders came away with the win when Brett Dickinson's shot from the point, at the 10:48 mark of the first overtime, found the back of the net.
Both goalies stopped every puck in regulation. For Ohio goalie Corson Cramer, he made 44 saves in 60 minutes, tying his most in a game as a member of the Junior Blue Jackets. Cramer would face 10 more shots in overtime, allowing the only goal of the night to Dickinson.
RoughRiders' goaltender Richard Bachman made 35 saves in the game, with four of them coming in the extra session. For Bachman, it was his second straight shutout.
Neither team was able to score on the power play, as Ohio went 0-for-4 and Cedar Rapids went 0-for-6. The RoughRiders now lead the series 2-0.
The Junior Blue Jackets play a best-of-seven series with the RoughRiders, which will continue with Game three of the series Friday, April 20, at Cedar Rapids. Game time for is set for 8:05 p.m. (ET).
