GARY, Ind. (January 16, 2004) – Steelheads fans will be able to follow all the action of the 20th Continental Basketball Association All-Star Classic via the Internet.

The CBA and Fiberpipe Internet Services have partnered to provide a video webcast of the game. The game is at Yakima, Wash. and the live broadcast starts at 9:15 p.m., Region time. "Broadcasting the All-Star Classic over the Internet creates a tremendous opportunity for us to showcase our players, fans and corporate partners, to a global audience," stated CBA Commissioner Gary Hunter. "We are pleased about this partnership with Fiberpipe, and together we can expose people to the exciting world of CBA basketball."

Said Jewell Harris Jr. Steelheads Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel: "We are excited about this partnership as well. Our fans can follow their favorite players during the All-Star Game."

Veteran broadcaster and CBA Director of Operations Scott Johnson will call the play-by-play, while CBA Deputy Commissioner Wade Morehead will provide color commentary for the game, which pits the National All-Star team against the American All-Stars. Players were selected by the CBA Head Coaches and team beat writers through a balloting process.

"We are very excited that the Continental Basketball Association has chosen Fiberpipe to provide the webcast coverage of the All-Star Game," said Fiberpipe CEO Ken Birch. "The CBA is a great addition to our rapidly growing list of sports-related webcast channels."

An averaged of 3,359 fans per game (23,515) total made their way through the turnstiles during the CBA's opening weekend this season, including a sell-out of 5,823 at the Genesis Convention Center on November 15. The Steelheads are averaging 2,666.7 fans per game, almost 700 fans per game more than last season. The League has also seen players receive NBA call-ups since November 14, and has added two expansion teams (Muskegon, Mich. and Bellevue, Wash.) to begin play in the 2004-05 season.
