Fort Worth Cats News Release

The Cats bid adieu to LaGrave Field in grand fashion Tuesday night.

In front of a crowd of 4,088, the Cats pounded out 16 hits en route to a 12-3 shellacking of Shreveport.

Tim Hartshorn led the Cats with a 4-for-5 performance that included two doubles. Fort Worth starter Allen Davis threw eight solid innings to earn his 10th win of the season.

The Cats took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and then added to their advantage with a three-run third. Leading 5-0 going into the fifth, Shreveport got on the board on a Bryan Loeb solo homer to make it 5-1.

Fort Worth put the game away with a five-run seventh inning that included back-to-back homers by Jason Radwan and John Allen. Hartshorn led off the seventh with his second double of the game and came around to score on a Bryon Smith triple.

Davis (10-7) collected the win as he permitted just one run on five hits and struck out a season high 10 batters. Davis now has 126 strikeouts on the season, a career high.

Shreveport starter Josh Gold (9-7) went just three innings and allowed five runs on five hits to take the loss. Reliever David Kuiper allowed seven runs on 11 hits in five innings of relief work.

Radwan and Terence Green each had three RBI for the Cats; Smith had three hits and two RBI.

The Cats, whose second half record now stands at 23-21, begin their final road trip of the season on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m in San Angelo. Right-hander Shad Williams will pitch for the Cats.
