Cats Stay Hot in Rain Shortened Game
June 27, 2019 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
North Adams SteepleCats News Release
The Cats played host to the Mainers and greeted them with a 3 run first inning as Scout Knotts cleared the bases with a 3 run double to open the scoring. Nick Payero was solid in this start, stumbling only in the 4th inning when he allowed 2 runs to score and the game was tied at 3. The Cats quickly responded with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning and re-established a 2 run lead. That lead would hold as Mother Nature made her presence known as thunder and lightning brought the game to an end as the minimum amount of innings were played and the Cats left The Joe with a win. They will be heading to Danbury for a big time matchup with one of the best teams from the Southern Division. Tune in tomorrow as the Cats will look to improve to 11-4 and keep a tight grip on the top spot in the North.
