Cats Re-Sign Lefty

The Fort Worth Cats have inked left-handed pitcher Ryan Riddle to a contract for the 2009 season, the club announced today.

In his first season for the Cats in 2008, Riddle was 5-4 with a 4.28 ERA in 17 appearances including 16 starts. In 90 1/3 innings pitched, Riddle struck out 57 and walked 32. He had an outstanding June, going 3-2 with a 2.52 ERA in six starts.

Riddle appeared in 15 games in relief with Class-A Batavia in the New York -Penn League in 2007 and had a 2-1 record with a 5.48 ERA. Struck out 19 and walked 11 in 21 1/3 innings of work. Played college baseball at UT-Arlington and Texas Wesleyan University and played in high school at Euless Trinity.
