Cats re-sign All-Star Terence Green

The Fort Worth Cats have signed third baseman Terence Green to a contract for the 2006 season. It will be Green's third year with Fort Worth.
In 2005, Green batted .321, a new career high with eight home runs and 39 runs batted in. He led the league and tied a career high with 28 stolen bases and also tied for the league-lead in total hits with 124, a new club record.
He was named the Central League's Player of the Week on May 15 after hitting at a .407 clip with three doubles, two home runs and seven runs batted in the previous week. Green was the third baseman on the CBL All-Star team in July in Brockton, Mass.
During the playoffs, Green batted .326 and drove in seven runs, including a grand slam in Game 4 of the CBL Championship series against San Angelo.
He joined the Cats in 2004 and played in all 94 of the Cats' games that year, batting .273 with eight homers and 55 RBIs. Prior to his time with the Cats, Green spent four seasons in the Central League with the Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks from 2000-2003.
Green, 28, a Plano-native, played college baseball at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.
