July 29, 2013 - United League Baseball (ULB)
Fort Worth Cats News Release

The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings emerged victorious and handed the Fort Worth Cats their second walk off loss in as many days with a 7-6 extra innings win on Sunday in Harlingen.

The Cats (38-25) fell behind in the first 1-0, but put two runs across in the third inning to go ahead.

The WhiteWings (32-30) surged back with a four-run third before the Cats scored four of their own in the fifth inning on a David Bergin bases-clearing double with the bases loaded and Mark Sobolewski sacrifice fly.

The Cats could not hold off RGV, as they tied it with a run on an error in the bottom half.

The score stayed tied until the tenth when the WhiteWings walked off on an Albert Carpen single.

Bergin accounted for four of the Cats' five RBI on the night and leads the team in that category with 48 - good for second place in the league.

Cats' starter Will Krout impressed in his debut, keeping the team in the game by allowing five earned runs on eight hits over seven innings.

After an off day on Monday, the Cats will take on the Edinburg Roadrunners (32-31) in a four-game home series beginning on Tuesday.

Tickets to all home games can be purchased by calling (817) 332-CATS or by going online to FWCats.com.
