
Cats get second shoot-out win

It took 11 shooters in the shoot-out before the Moncton Wildcats claimed a 5-4 victory over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
The Cats led 2-1 after the first on goals by Brandon Gormley and Pierre-Marc Lessard. Cory MacIntosh scored the Eagles.
In the middle period, the teams exchanged goals, Scott Brannon and Daniel Pettersson got the Wildcats goals while Viktor Hertzberg and Taylor MacDougall tallied for Cape Breton.
The Eagles sent the game to overtime at 17:23 of the third with Nick MacNeil getting a power play marker.
The five minute overtime failed to produce a winner. In the shoot out, Daniel Pettersson, the eleventh shooter for the Cats beat Olivier Roy for the win.
The Cats out-shot the Eagles 56-31. On the power-play, Moncton went 3 for 11, Cape Breton 2 for 10. The games three stars were Scott Brannon of the Wildcats, the first star, Roy got the second star nod and Brandon Gormley was star number three.
The Wildcats face the Screaming in Cape Breton on Friday night. Les Stoodley will have the call of the game on News 91.9 starting at 7 o'clock.
