North Adams SteepleCats News Release
In the final regular season game at Joe Wolfe Field the Cats hosted the Swampbats as the two teams met up for the 6th time this season. Mason Ronan ducked in and out of trouble through the first 4 scoreless innings for the Cats, but in the fifth he allowed the first two runners to reach on free passes and that spelled the end to his night. Joe Kemlage would come in and walked the first batter he saw, and after a wild pitch Kyle Ball hit a two run double as the Bats would put up a four spot in the fifth. The Cats on the other hand were only able to muster one run in this contest and that was in the 2nd inning when J.J. Sousa singled home Matt Koperniak. The Cats had scoring chances in more innings than they did not, but they couldn't get that big hit to get themselves back iinto this ballgame. The SteepleCats would fall by a final score of 5-1 and have vacated their number 1 spot in the standings. Now all eyes turn to the double-header tomorrow against the Valley Blue Sox, the playoff fate of both of these teams will be largely decided by the outcome of those two games. The season is wrapping up, but the playoff seeding is coming right down to the wire.
