Fort Worth Cats News Release

The Cats extended their winning streak to six games as they blanked Amarillo 5-0 in Game 1 of the doubleheader before falling 5-2 in the night cap.

Angel Aragon (3-2) pitched a seven-inning complete-game shutout to earn the win in Game 1. Aragon allowed just four hits and struck out four.

The Cats scored four times in the second inning, including a solo homer from Jason Radwan and a two-run shot from Jeremy Smith. They would add a run in the third to make it 5-0.

In Game 2, the Cats fell behind in the first inning as Carlos Figueroa led off with a triple and then scored on a Dan Meier sacrifice fly.

The Cats rallied in the bottom of the inning, as Tim Hartshorn led off the Fort Worth half of the first with a solo homer to left.

Amarillo scored in the second to take a 2-1 lead, but the Cats bounced back again, getting a Jason Radwan solo homer to tie the game 2-2.

Then in the sixth, Amarillo scored three times on an RBI double from Jeremy Todd, and run-scoring singles from Odannys Ayala and Trent Otis to put the Dillas ahead 5-2.

Amarillo lefty Jason Stockstill (4-3) allowed just two runs on three hits as he threw a seven-inning complete game. Stockstill walked eight and struck out six.

Dave Stevens (2-3) was roughed up in that sixth inning as he went 5 1/3 and permitted five runs on seven hits to take the loss.

The Cats return to action on Friday night as they travel to Jackson for the first of a four-game set with the Senators. Allen Davis (3-2) will be on the mound when the Cats take the field at 7:05 Friday night.
