
Cats agree to terms with pitcher Juan Figueroa

The Fort Worth Cats have agreed to terms with pitcher Juan Figueroa on a contract for the 2005 season. Figueroa will join the Cats in the middle of their seven-game road trip on Monday, May 9 in Jackson, Mississippi.
Figueroa, 23, began the 2004 season with Oneonta of the New York-Penn League where he went 1-2 with a 5.68 ERA in 12.2 innings. The right-hander appeared in nine games limiting opponents to a .208 batting average. He finished the year with the Pennsylvania Road Warriors in the Atlantic League where he had a record of 0-4 with a 6.93 ERA in 24.2 innings.
Figueroa was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Detroit Tigers organization in 2001. His best season came with Oneonta in 2002 when he posted 21 saves and had a record of 0-2 with a 3.81 ERA in 28 appearances.
