Columbus Catfish News Release

Columbus, GA - Once again the Columbus Catfish will open up the confines of Golden Park to local Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops. On Friday, May 4 and again on Friday, August 24 interested members of the Scouts are invited to Golden Park for the annual Scout camp-outs. Scouts can enjoy baseball, followed by camping out under the stars in the outfield at Golden Park.

Each youth Scout in uniform receives one free general admission game ticket, a commemorative Catfish patch, and the opportunity to camp out on the outfield grass of Golden Park, but please no spikes. A member of the largest scout group in attendance will throw out the ceremonial First Pitch before the Catfish game!

As usual family members are also invited, with adult general admission tickets starting at just $5 and children tickets are $3. Military are half-off the price of admission with a military ID. The Catfish hope to make 2007 the largest Scout camp-outs ever. Remember, Golden Park is home to friendly Catfish, not angry bears like the woods.

On May 4 the Catfish face the Charleston RiverDogs. On August 24 they battle the Savannah Sand Gnats. Both games begin at 7:00pm.

All camp-out tickets must be picked up at the Boy Scouts of America Chattahoochee Council Office, 1710 Buena Vista Rd., Columbus, GA 31906, or by phone at (706) 327-2634. For more information call the Catfish at (706) 571-8866.
