Columbus Catfish News Release
Columbus, GA - The cause of a broken light tower at Golden Park has yet to be placed as City of Columbus electricians continue to examine the problem. There is believed to be a short in the underground wiring.
In the mean time, the game against the Kannapolis Intimidators on Tuesday, August 15 has been changed to 5:00pm. "It's not a move I want to make," said Catfish General Manager Ken Clary, "but the earlier time ensures more daylight to complete the game." Future game times are also subject to change.
Game two of a doubleheader Saturday was canceled because the poorly lit area along the left field line was deemed unfit for play. Catfish employees brought in backup towers, which did not shed enough light on the problem. Fans who had tickets for the doubleheader Saturday can exchange their tickets for any other Catfish game this season.
