
Castleberry Signs In China

Minot, ND - September 10, 2007 - Former Skyrockets player Steve Castleberry has signed with a new CBA team, that is the Chinese Basketball Association. Castleberry was drafted in the 3rd round by the Jilin Northeastern Tigers. Jilin is located on the northeast side of China, just above North Korea. The Chinese Basketball Association plays a 30 game schedule, set to begin October 28, 2007. Castleberry and the Tigers are currently participating in an exhibition tournament in preparation for the season.
Castleberry, a Skyrockets fan favorite, played for the team in their inaugural season. He averaged 9.3 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game. He also had 31 blocked shots during the season. This past summer, he played for the USBL Dodge City Legend. Castleberry also has NBA experience, having previously played with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2006 Summer League.
"This is great for Steve. We are constantly pushing our guys to succeed on any level, and he has worked hard and deserves this opportunity," said Skyrockets Head Coach Chris Daleo.
The Skyrockets are gearing up for the 2007-2008 season. Opening weekend for the Skyrockets is set for November 30th and December 1st when the Skyrockets take on the Rio Grande Valley Silverados, an expansion team in the Continental Basketball Association. Season tickets are still available for all 24 home games. All games are played at the Minot Municipal Auditorium and season tickets start at $150.
