
Casper Rockies Hynick Named Pitcher of the Year

Casper, WY - The Casper Rockies are pleased to announce that designated hitter Hector Gomez and pitcher Brandon Hynick have been named Pioneer League All-Stars.
Brandon Hynick was named the Pioneer League Pitcher of the Year. The Casper Rockies have received Pitcher of the Year Honors for two out of the past three years with Samuel Deduno receiving the honors in 2004.
Brandon Hynick, a 6 foot 3 righty out of North Royalton, OH, was selected as a pitcher to the 2006 all-star team. Hynick went 4-3 this season in 12 starts with a 2.39 ERA in 64 innings pitched. He allowed 55 hits and 17 earned runs with 70 strikeouts and eight walks.
Hector Gomez, a 6 foot 3 righty from San Pedro, Dominican Republic, was chosen as the Designated Hitter for the 2006 Pioneer League All-Star Team. Gomez had a .327 batting average in fifty games played with 66 hits and 35 RBI.
Catcher Jhaysson Agustin and manager PJ Carey were named to the all-star team as Honorable Mentions.
