
Cashell, Goodman to Draw Cards for SSDC Crown

Reno, Nev.- After the season series between the Reno Aces and Las Vegas 51s ended in an 8-8 tie, the inaugural Silver State Diamond Challenge will be decided by the draw of a card by each city's mayor on Monday at 3 p.m. at Aces Ballpark.
Reno Mayor Bob Cashell and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman will meet at home plate and draw from a deck of cards. The mayor who draws the highest card-and his respective city's team-will win the inaugural title and the SSDC trophy.
The Silver State Diamond Challenge is the 16-game season series played between the Pacific Coast League's Reno Aces and Las Vegas 51s. The winner of the season series wins the SSDC trophy, made of Nevada silver. Additionally, the losing mayor will wear the winning team's jersey throughout an entire business day, including a city council meeting.
Media are asked to enter Aces Ballpark through the main entrance next to the Team Shop, then report to the playing field via the field-level gate at Section 103 and 104 by 2:50 p.m. PT. Mayor Cashell and Mayor Goodman will be available for interviews immediately following.
