Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Goaltender Ken Carroll will be in uniform tonight in Laredo, Texas, representing the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the 2010 CHL All-Star Game, presented by Laredo Energy. Opening faceoff is set for 7:00 pm tonight as the CHL All-Stars take on the South Texas All-Stars at the Laredo Entertainment Center.

Carroll and 17 other players from 12 of the league's teams will make up the CHL All-Star team, which will face-off against the South Texas All-Stars in tonight's game. The South Texas roster is comprised of players from the Corpus Christi IceRays, Laredo Bucks and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Joining Carroll between the pipes for the CHL All-Stars tonight will be Odessa's Joel Martin (who was voted in as the starter) and Rapid City's Danny Battochio.

This year's All-Star selection is the sixth of Carroll's nine-year Mudbugs career, making him the league record holder among goaltenders. The Oil City, Ontario native sports an 8-5-2 record this season with one shutout in 16 appearances. He leads the league at the midseason break with a.926 saves percentage and ranks fourth with a 2.52 goals-against average.

Carroll, 33, was chosen to four straight All-Star Games from '04 to '07, although he did not play in the 2007 game in Bossier City due to injury. The 5-10, 175-pound netminder earned the win in the 2006 All-Star Game at Rio Grande Valley after making 11 saves in the third period and then stopping three of four shooters as the Northern Conference beat the Southern Conference 10-9 in a shootout.

Tonight's CHL All-Star Game will be shown live online on CHL TV and will be broadcast on a number of local television stations throughout the country, including KTEV in Texarkana (an America One affiliate). Click here
