Charlotte Krunk News Release
Charlotte, NC. James Bynam, GM of the ABA's Carolina Thunder, today announced the signing of former NBA player Chris Robinson as well as several other players from the recent free agent tryout camp held in Charlotte. According to Bynum, "The camp was very competitive, there are tremendous ballplayers in this area from all of the great schools. And while Chris didn't play for one of them, obviously he stood out at the camp."
Bynum added, "For those not too familiar with him, Chris graduated from Western Kentucky in 1996 and was the Sun Belt player of the year. He's 6'7" with great shooting and backcourt skills and we think he'll be a great help to many of our younger players. Chris played for the Sacramento Kings and Vancouver Grizzlies from 1996-2000 and recently returned from overseas where he averaged 27.8ppg. And like so many other ABA players, he really wants to work hard and pursue his dream of getting back into the NBA. And, we'll be announcing our other signees later next week."
Bynum concluded, "This was our first tryout camp. We'll also announce another tryout camp next week to be held in Alabama at our Assistant Coach, Derrek Hamilton's, hometown.
