
Carolina Thunder announces first tryout camp

Charlotte, NC. James Bynum, Director of Player Personnel for the new ABA Charlotte Thunder team today announced that the first Free Agent Tryout Camp would be held at the Providence Day School in Charlotte, NC on June 12, 13. Registration for the camp will be from 8-9AM on June 12; the camp will run from 9-5PM on June 12 and 9-1PM on June 13.
According to Bynum, "Fans have long watched great players from Duke, NC, Wake Forest, NC State, NC Charlotte and other great area basketball schools compete against one another. We hope to put together a team loaded with top area players who will play together to create a fabulous ABA team." He added, "And while the tryout camp is certainly open to all skilled players and the best will be on the roster, we know that there will be great players throughout the region familiar to fans on the team. Hopefully we'll have a huge turnout at the tryouts."
The registration fee is $130.00 for applications received by June 4th; $150.00 after that and on the day of tryouts. Hotel discount information and directions will be posted on the Carolina Thunder website (www.thecarolinathunder.com) during the next week as well as information about upcoming tryout camps. The registration form must be printed, filled out and mailed with your Money Order or Cashier's Check for the reservation fee. Personal checks will not be accepted.
