Carolina Rhinos To Visit Cape Fear Saturday

GREENVILLE, SC – The League office of arenafootball2 and the Carolina Rhinos yesterday announced the return of offensive / defensive lineman Ronnie Washburn to the team. Washburn played for the Rhinos in both of their previous two seasons, 2000 and 2001, and was the League's Built Ford Tough Player of the Year ad earned second-team All-af2 honors last season.

The League office and the Rhinos have also announced the release of defensive specialist Larenzo Ferguson, fullback / linebacker Rufus Williams and offensive / defensive lineman Jeff Chambers, as well as the placement of offensive / defensive lineman Jason Kelly on the inactive list and the return of wide receiver / defensive back Cliff Shavers and offensive / defensive lineman J.J. Brown to the team's active roster.

The Rhinos will visit the Cape Fear Wildcats in Fayetteville, North Carolina tomorrow, Saturday July 13th, at 7:30 p.m. The game will be the final on the road this season for the Rhinos and will be broadcast live on 1070 "The Sportszone" WCSZ-AM and at rhinosfootball.com beginning at 7:15 p.m.

Cape Fear beat the Rhinos 41-38 at the BI-LO Center in Greenville on June 15th in the only previous meeting between the teams. The 3-10 Rhinos enter this weekend's game on the heels of a 42-36 home win over the Columbus Wardogs last Saturday. The win snapped a franchise-record, seven-game losing streak and moved the Rhinos into a tie with Columbus for third place in the Eastern Division. The 11-2 Wildcats have won nine straight games and enter this weekend's action on the heels of a 33-25 home win over the Albany Conquest last Sunday. They are in first place in the Atlantic Division and trail only the 12-2 Macon Knights in the overall af2 standings.

The Rhinos will return home to host the Charleston Swamp Foxes on Saturday July 20th and the Richmond Speed Saturday July 27th.
