Carolina Rhinos News Release

GREENVILLE, SC – The League office of arenafootball2 and the Carolina Rhinos have announced the placement of fullback / linebacker Rashaan Kearny on the long-term injured reserve and that offensive / defensive lineman Jerry Myers has returned to the team's active roster.

The Rhinos will complete their third season in af2 tomorrow, Saturday July 27th, when they host the Richmond Speed at 7:30 p.m. at the BI-LO Center in downtown Greenville.

The Rhinos enter this weekend's game in third place in the Eastern Division with a 4-11 record one game ahead of the fourth-place Columbus Wardogs. They have won two straight home games and two of their last three contests overall including a 60-48 victory over the Charleston Swamp Foxes at the BI-LO Center last Saturday. A win would clinch a 4-4 home record and a third place finish in the division for the Rhinos. They are 1-2 all-time versus Richmond.

Richmond enters this weekend's game with a 12-3 record and tied with the Cape Fear Wildcats for first place in the Atlantic Division on the heels of a come-from-behind 36-35 road win in Cape Fear last Friday. The win gave the Speed all tiebreaker advantages over the Wildcats. So, Richmond can clinch the division championship and home-field advantage in next weekend's first round of the ArenaCup Playoffs with a win versus the Rhinos or a Cape Fear loss in Charleston this weekend. A Speed loss and a Wildcats win would give Cape Fear the division title and home-field advantage. In any scenario, the two teams will play one another in next weekend's playoff opener.

Rhino tickets are on sale at the BI-LO Center box office, over the phone by calling either 864-233-2525 or 864-576-1550 and on-line at ticketmaster.com.
