Carolina Rhinos Announce 2002 Awards

GREENVILLE, SC – The arenafootball2's Carolina Rhinos announced their 2002 player awards at the team's annual season ticket holder party at Wild Wing Café in downtown Greenville Monday. Nine different awards were handed out including the Carolina Rhinos Fan Favorite which was decided by a vote at home games and at rhinosfootball.com.

Caleb Slover, Nick Johnson and Ramone Robinson were the big winners Monday. Slover, a rookie quarterback from Tusculum College, was named the offensive most valuable player and the fan favorite. Robinson, a veteran quarterback from Benedict College, was named the team player of the year. Johnson, an offensive specialist from Hofstra University, was named the player of the year.

The complete list of awards is as follows:
Best Play of the Year – Mal Lawyer
Best Hit of the Year – Jermaine Derricott
Lineman of the Year – Jerry Myers
Team Spirit Award – Jody Wade and Jason Leach
Team Player of the Year – Ramone Robinson
Defensive MVP – Arkee Thompson
Offensive MVP – Caleb Slover
Fan Favorite – Caleb Slover
Player of the Year – Nick Johnson
