RALEIGH, N.C. (April 10, 2002)- The Arena Football League's Carolina Cobras teamed up with Wake County Public Schools "First In Fitness" field day activities on Tuesday and Wednesday. Cobras' players and members of the front office staff attended the festivities on both days to provide encouragement to the children participating in numerous field day events such as the shuttle run, high jump and one-mile run.

Quarterback's Connell Maynor and Lance Funderburk, fullback/linebacker Marrio Grier, wide receiver/linebacker Rj Anderson and linemen Dary Myricks and Jon McCall participated in the events by speaking to children on the importance of fitness and education. The players signed autographs and each child was presented with a special Wake County "First In Fitness" coupon to receive ticket discounts at the Cobras first two home games on April 20 and May 4.

The Cobras have been extremely active in the community since arriving in the Triangle in 2000. The Cobras C.A.R.E. (character, achievements, respect and education) community outreach program has visited over 50 schools in the Triangle and has touched thousands of kids.
