Carlson Joins Naturals as Special Events Manager

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are pleased to announce the hiring of Bentonville resident Kendra Carlson. Carlson joins the Naturals in a newly created position of Special Events Manager.

She will work almost exclusively on non-baseball events for Arvest Ballpark, including concerts, festivals, and charity events held on off days.

"It's very exciting to add an experienced person like Kendra to our staff," said Naturals' General Manager Eric Edelstein. "She has a lot of ties within the business community, and that will be instrumental as we move towards marketing Arvest Ballpark as a top regional destination for concerts and other events."

The Stillwater, OK native spent the past three years as the Director of Marketing and Events for the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce. In her time with the Chamber of Commerce she handled marketing and website development for the Chamber as well as working on several special events and large functions within the Bentonville business community. She also served as the chair of the NWA Business Women's Conference marketing committee and serves on the NWA Green Expo committee.

Carlson spent several years in marketing and advertising both in Oklahoma and in Arkansas prior to joining the Chamber. She is a 2001 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a B.S. Degree in Journalism and Broadcasting/PR and a Minor in Sociology.

Last year, Arvest Ballpark hosted several different events on non-game days, including a Joe Nichols concert, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the Cancer Challenge walk, and a private Tyson event featuring a Willie Nelson concert. More events are planned for the 2009 calendar year.
