Career day for Broadhurst
February 12, 2007 - World Indoor Football League 2 (WIFL 2)
Daytona Beach Thunder News Release
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Talk about a career day. Daytona Beach Thunder wide receiver Blake Broadhurst had more touchdowns Sunday afternoon than he did receptions while at Troy University. Broadhurst scored the Thunder's first four touchdowns and finished with five of Bo Bartik's six touchdown passes. The five TDs tied Robert Bailey's single-game record. Not bad for a guy who had three catches in four years in college. "When I scored the first touchdown I was kinda in awe because it was the first touchdown I've gotten in 6 years," said Broadhurst. "This is a great place to play and I'm just happy to be on the field and playing again." Broadhurst finished with seven receptions with 70 yards and 5 touchdowns. NOTES: Justin Brown from Bethune-Cookman celebrated his birthday with two sacks ... Head Coach Leon Bright implemented the WIFL's challenge rule in the second play when he disagreed with the officials' interpretation on the rules... In the first issuing of style points: Augusta had 218 and Daytona Beach 100.
