New Jersey Cardinals News Release

The New Jersey Cardinals are excited to once again partner with D&H Alternative Risk Solutions to continue a tremendously successful reading program for kids in Northern New Jersey. The program is designed to encourage children to read on their own using incentives that will reward them for doing so. There are five levels to the program, and for each level completed kids will earn a Cardinals ticket along with other prizes. Those participants who reach the homerun level will be honored during a pre-game ceremony and will have their picture taken with a Cardinals player. The top 3 overall readers will have their own baseball card made with a New Jersey Cardinals player and it will be handed out on August 31.

Children attending kindergarten through grade eight are eligible to participate. The program will run from March 2 through August 12 of this year. Participants are asked to read 1 book for the first level (or a single) to receive a Cardinals general admission ticket; 5 additional books to complete the 2nd level (or a double) and receive a Cardinals decal sticker; if participants read another 5 books to complete the 3rd level (triple) they will be able to watch the Cardinals take batting practice ; to get a homerun participants will have to read a total of 25 books to participate in a pre-game ceremony that will honor all those who reached that level.

New Jersey Cardinals Vice President and General Manager, Tony Torre said, The Cardinals are excited about the reading program. We are grateful to Wayne Dietz of D&H Alternative Risk Solutions, for sponsoring the program. Mr. Dietz has been a long time Cardinals supporter and we thank him for his continued involvement with the club. The Cardinals are committed to the area youth and to their education.

Wayne Dietz of D&H Risk Alternative, I am thrilled to enter into this partnership with the Cardinals, to help give the youth in this area a head start in their education. I love this community and the people in it; this is my way of giving back to it.

Anyone that is interested in participating in the program may log onto www.njcards.com or call Lisa Howell Director, Community Relations and Group Sales at 973-579-7500 x16 for more details.
