New Jersey Cardinals News Release
Today, in Augusta, New Jersey, the New Jersey Cardinals officially released their 2005 NY-Penn League schedule. This season marks the Cardinals 12th in New Jersey. The Cards open at home on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Skylands Park hosting the Williamsport Crosscutters (Pittsburgh Pirates). A massive fireworks display will follow the game. First pitch is set for 7:15 PM.
Highlights for the 2005 season include 15 weekend home dates comprised of (6) Friday, (4) Saturday, and (5) Sunday games. For the fourth straight season the NY-Penn League will have an unbalanced schedule with an emphasis on division rivals. The slate features six home games against the Renegades (Tampa Bay Devil Rays), five versus the Brooklyn Cyclones (New York Mets), five against the Staten Island Yankees (New York Yankees), and five against Cal Ripken Jr.s Aberdeen Ironbirds (Baltimore Orioles).
In what has become a staple of the holiday weekend, the Cardinals will be home the entire July 4th weekend with games on Friday, July 1st & Saturday, July 2nd against Staten Island, and Sunday, July 3rd, and Monday, July 4th against Brooklyn. The promotion schedule has yet to be set, but plans are being developed to maximize our fireworks promotions on the holiday weekend. The Cardinals close out the regular season on Thursday, September 8th at home against Brooklyn.
Gametimes for the 2005 season remain the same as last year. Monday through Friday at 7:15 PM and Saturday & Sundays, first pitch is at 5 PM.
Currently the Cardinals are offering fans full season tickets and partial season ticket plans. The full season tickets are priced at $350 for box and $250 for reserved. For the first time ever either a box or reserved season ticket package will include one free seasonal parking pass.
New Jersey Cardinals Vice President and General Manager, Tony Torre said, We listen to comments from our fans and corporate client base each and every year. Parking has been mentioned to us by our fans as an item of interest. From the team owners to the front office staff, we are indebted to the support we have received over the past eleven years. By acknowledging our season ticket holders for their commitment with a complimentary parking pass, we hope their support will remain with us for many years to come.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the ticket office at 973-579-7500, stopping the team offices at the stadium at Skylands Park, or on the team website at njcards.com. A release date for purchasing tickets online will be forthcoming.
