
Captains Drop Fourth Straight

Lake County Captains News Release
(Hagerstown, MD) - Tim Pahuta hit two home runs and drove in four runs as the Hagerstown Suns topped the Lake County Captains 7-5 on Sunday. The loss was the Captains fourth in a row.
The long ball started flying out of Municipal Stadium in the first inning when Karexon Sanchez hit a solo home run off of Suns starter Chris Lugo and the Suns' Tim Pahuta countered in the bottom of the first off of Captains started Ryan Morris and it was 1-1. The Captains took the lead back in the third inning when Ron Rivas tripled home Jeff Hehr and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Adam White and it was 3-1.
The Suns took the lead in the third inning when Pahuta hit another home run, a three run shot, and it was 4-3. It went to 5-3 in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly from Valerio Heredia that scored Jake Rogers from third base. The Suns tacked on a run in the fifth inning when Captains reliever Jonathan Holt threw a wild pitch scoring Sean Rooney from third base to up the lead to 6-3. The Captains got a run back in the top of the sixth inning when Todd Martin doubled home Matt McBride to make it 6-4. The Captains hit their second home run of the game when Jeff Hehr hit a solo shot off of Suns reliever Dan Leatherman in the seventh inning and the Captains drew closer at 6-5. The Suns added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning when a run scored on a passed ball and the it was 7-5.
Morris (9-6) took the loss going four innings allowing five runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out two. Holt worked two innings and allowed the one run two hits. Mike Pontius came on in the seventh inning and threw two innings. Lugo notched the win to up his record 3-2. Justin Phillabaum pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his first save of the year.
The Captains conclude the regular season schedule in Hagerstown on Monday at 2:05 PM. The Captains will send LHP Ryan Miller (7-7, 3.51) to the mound to face the Suns RHP Terrence Engles (3-5, 6.08) with game time at 7:05 PM. The Captains will take on the West Virginia Power in the South Atlantic League's Northern Division Championship Series beginning on Wednesday, September 3rd at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, WV with game time at 7:05 PM. The Power is the Class "A" Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. The series will be a best of three games with game two being played at Classic Park in Eastlake on Friday, September 5th at 7:05 PM. Game three, if necessary, will be played on Saturday, September 6th also at Classic Park at 7:05 PM.
The winner for the series will play the winner of Southern Division Championship series between the Augusta GreenJackets and Asheville Tourists. The SAL Championship series is best of five games with the first two games being played in the Southern Division champion's stadium beginning on Monday, September 8th.
Tickets for all Captains home games including the 2008 SAL Playoffs are on sale at the Classic Park box office, by phone at 440-954-WINS (9467) or at captainsbaseball.com. Tickets for the Playoffs remain the same as regular season game tickets, $9 reserved seat, $7 bleachers, juniors, and seniors, $6 lawn. Lawn seats for the Playoffs will only be sold once the reserved seats and bleachers are sold out. The $7 group rate will still apply to groups of 20 or more.
