(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains promotional schedule for 2007 is available for release. The home schedule begins on Friday, April 13th at 7:05 p.m. versus the Lexington Legends, the Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros. Opening Night festivities will include a 5th Anniversary Commemorative Coin giveaway and a fireworks extravaganza following the game.

The Opening Night Fireworks will be the first of 12 fireworks shows the Captains have planned for the season. All Friday night games will have a post game fireworks show, as well as a special Saturday, July 7th show to celebrate Independence Day.

In addition to fireworks, the Captains will have a record 24 premium giveaways this season. Among the items to be handed out will be a dual statue of Roger Clemens (in a Lexington Legends uniform) and the Captains Johnny Drennen on Saturday, June 9th. Drennen made national news last year when he hit a home run off of Clemens in Lexington. Lake County native, and current Cleveland Browns receiver, Joe Jurevicius will be honored with his own bobblehead and is expected to be present for the game on Sunday, July 8th. A statue of Fausto Carmona, the first Captains player to see action for the Cleveland Indians, will be given away on Saturday, August 4th.

Theme nights also make a return to Classic Park this season. Buck Night returns on Mondays where fans can purchase hot dogs, sodas, and beers for $1. Tuesday is Cleveland Celebrity Night, Wednesday is Ladies Night, and Thursday is College ID Night presented by Lake Erie College. Sunday is Plevin & Gallucci Family Fun Day and includes a pre-game autograph session prior to the game and all kids get to run the bases after the game.

WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) superstar Sergeant Slaughter will be at Classic Park on Thursday, July 19th to show his support for the Captains "Operation: Supply our Troops." Fans will be encouraged to bring personal items such as socks, underwear, toiletries etc. to the ballpark to be distributed to our troops stationed overseas. A more complete list of items will be disseminated closer to the game.

"We are extremely excited about the promotional line-up for our 5th Anniversary season. We strive to build upon and improve the most popular theme nights and attractions our fans have become accustomed to, while adding new events and promotions every season," said Brock Richards, Captains Director of Promotions & Entertainment. "Over half of our premium giveaways items this season are brand new and have never been distributed at Classic Park before."
