In a tightly contested, thrilling match the Sacramento Capitals (2-0) defeat the Philadelphia Freedoms 23-19. In the final set of the night doubles team Mark Knowles and Mardy Fish beat Philadelphia's Sam Groth and Jordan Kerr to pull out the match for the Caps. Next match is 7:35p Wednesday, July 10 vs. the Orange County Breakers.

Women's singles: Taylor Townsend, Sacramento, def. Maria Sanchez, Philadelphia, 5-3
Mixed doubles: Mark Knowles and Megan Moulton-Levy, Sacramento, def. Jordan Kerr and Liezel Huber, Philadelphia, 5-3
Women's doubles: Megan Moulton-Levy and Taylor Townsend def. Maria Sanchez and Liezel Huber, Philadelphia, 5-4 (5-2 tiebreaker)
Men's doubles: Knowles and Fish, Sacramento def. Groth and Kerr 5-4 (5-4 tiebreaker)
