Sacramento Capitals News Release
The Sacramento Capitals franchise is the longest running and most successful in Mylan World TeamTennis. As valued supporters we want to reach out and make sure you know of the changes taking place.
The Capitals have played at various sites over the course of 28 seasons. With each venue there have been significant costs associated with bringing the site up to standards to meet the requirements of hosting a professional sporting event. In an effort to find a facility to meet our needs, we reached out to multiple people and organizations in and around the Sacramento community. After an extensive search we came to the difficult decision that we needed to look outside of Sacramento and relocate the team.
We have researched and visited tennis facilities in multiple locations. Through the process we connected with the Amanda & Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center. It is the home of community tennis in Las Vegas. The Darling Tennis Center is a Certified USTA Regional Training Center with a permanent stadium that seats approximately 3000. We have formed a supportive and mutually beneficial relationship with the Darling Tennis Center. I am excited to announce that we will play our 29th season in an amazing facility, in front of tennis loving fans, with stars from the WTA and ATP at the Las Vegas Neon!
For those of you not familiar with the facility I encourage you to take a look www.darlingtenniscenter.net. There is a touching story behind the creation of the world class Amanda & Stacy Darling Memorial Tennis Center. In addition, Sam Querrey, a member of the Capitals roster the past two seasons, currently resides in Las Vegas. Sam and his family have been and continue to be involved with the Darling Tennis Center.
We will put together packages for our loyal fans and supporters in the coming months. Thank you for 28 wonderful seasons in Sacramento. Stay connected with us at www.lasvegasneontennis.com. We invite you to join us in Las Vegas for a fun tennis get-a-way!
Sincerely,
Kolleen McNamee
General Manager
