Capitals Still Looking For First Win Of The Season

The Edmonton Capitals are still looking for their first win of the Golden Baseball League Season. Game two started off on a torrid pace with the game tied 5 - 5 before it was three innings old. Eventually, Tucson pulled away with three runs in the 7th inning on their way to an 11 - 6 win over the Caps.

Bright spots for Edmonton included former Texas Ranger Cliff Brumbaugh who finished 3 for 5 at the plate while Tom Collaro and Canadian shortstop Matt Rogelstad each had two RBI in the contest.

Cristobal Santana hit a two-run home run for the Toros and was an impressive 3 for 4 at the plate scoring a pair of runs and racking up three RBI. Caps starting pitcher Mike Hrynio was roughed up for seven runs on eight hits in five innings of work.

Edmonton will try to rebound for game three of the series Friday night at Hi Corbett Field. Game time is 8 p.m. and you can follow the action pitch-by-pitch on capsbaseball.ca.
