Sacramento Capitals News Release


This last weekend the Capitals had three matches in a row. On Friday night we took on the Boston Lobsters. The Caps played amazing tennis and the match came down to the final set of Men's doubles. The Lobsters were too strong and the Caps lost a close match 19-23.

On Saturday night the Capitals played the Washington Kastles. The Kastles have a strong team and just this season broke the record for the longest winning streak by a professional sports team. Our players fought hard, but injuries began to take their toll as Mardy Fish was unable to play due to injury and Taylor Townsend was suffering from an abdominal strain. The Capitals fell 14-23.

Sunday night the Capitals team flew to Texas to take on the Texas Wild. Still suffering from injuries, Mardy Fish was unable to play and Taylor Townsend was replaced by Irina Falconi. Our team did their best and Megan, Mark, Ryan and Irina played with heart, but the Texas Wild were just too strong. The Caps fell 10-23.

The Capitals have one more match on the road before they return to Sacramento on July 17th. Tonight the Capitals fly to southern California to take on the Orange County Breakers. Be sure to follow the match online or visit our Facebook page and Twitter for match updates throughout the season.
