June 28, 2011 - North American League (NAmL)
Edmonton Capitals News Release
Capitals fans, it's time to get patriotic as we celebrate our great nation with the 2011 Canada Day Series presented by Mott's! We'll be taking on Maui Na Koa Ikaika Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday all at 7 p.m., with exciting promotions scheduled throughout the series, including Caesars on sale for just $3 at every game.
Tuesday's series opener is another $2 Tuesday presented by CISN FM, as ice cream, fries, nachos, slushies and pizza are just $2.
We've also got another edition of the always popular Wiener Wednesday presented by K-97, with those mouth-water Capitals hot dogs just $2 all night.
Another nightly deal that continues to grow in popularity is Thirsty Thursday presented by Hudsons Canadian Tap House, Virgin Radio and The Bear. Fans can enjoy refreshing Molson beer products for just $3.
Friday's game will be, without a doubt, the biggest Canada Day party in all of Edmonton. More than 6,000 fans attended last year's memorable Canada Day game, as we've got the best seats in the city to watch the river valley fireworks display. We've got thousands of Canada mini-flags and tattoos to hand out as well.
And keep the long weekend party going on Saturday with the series finale, featuring another intense Cheemo Mascot Race.
The forecast calls for warm weather and sunshine throughout the series, and the team is looking to continue its hot play, as they are one of the top teams in the North American League with an 18-12 record. They also have the reigning NAL player of the week in outfielder Todd Linden.
We'll see you at the ballpark!
The Capitals are the city's most affordable entertainment option in the summer featuring Edmonton's largest patio! Season seats start at less than $9 per seat. Individual game tickets start at $10 in advance and can be purchased at the Capitals Box Office (10233 - 96 Ave) during regular business hours Monday through Friday, at any Ticketmaster location, online at capsbaseball.ca or via phone at 780-414-GOAL (4625).
