
Capitales Handle Pride; 7-2

(Nashua, N.H.) The Quebec Capitales took game two of the game series from the Nashua Pride, 7-2, in front of a season high 2,771 fans at Historic Holman Stadium.
Quebec starting pitcher Michel Simard improved his record to 3-0 on the season, lasting six innings, allowing two runs (one earned), on nine hits, no walks and three strike outs. Nashua starter Lance Stevens suffered his first loss of the season (3-1), going five and one-third innings, allowing four runs, on five hits, six walks and three strike outs.
Capitales designated hitter Eddie Lantigua and first baseman Patrick Scalabrini each homered for Quebec. Right fielder Mike Goss enjoyed a 2-for-4 performance, driving in two RBI, while second baseman Alex Nunez ended the night 2-for-3 with a double.
Nashua's Aregenis Tavarez went 2-for-5, extending his hitting streak to 11 consecutive games, with a base hit in the fifth inning. First baseman Bryan Duplissie was 3-for-4 with three singles, while outfielder Jeremy Pickrel finished the night 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Pride and Capitales wrap-up the three game series on Sunday afternoon at 4:05pm, when Nashua send Nicolas Suero (1-2) to the mound. The Capitales will give Eric Cyr (2-1) the ball.
