Quebec, QU - The Quebec Capitales sent 13 batters to the plate against the Nashua Pride in the home half of the first inning, scoring eight runs off of starter Bucky Kosyk, on the way to an 10-3 win at Stade Municipal in Quebec City.
Kosyk, lasted just a third of an inning in his shortest outing of the season, giving up eight runs, seven earned, on eight hits, no walks and no strike outs. Quebec would add another pair of unearned runs in the eighth inning.
Pride reliever Jarrett Stawarz pitched terrifically in relief, going six and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits, no walks, and no strike outs after entering the game behind Kosyk. Left-hander Mike Joyce gave up two unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Quebec's Kevin Beavers won his first game of the season in his third start, lasting seven innings, giving up three runs, on eight hits, three walks, and five strike outs.
Nashua's Luis Rodriguez drove in a pair of the Pride's runs, going 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly. Aregenis Tavarez knocked in the other Pride run, he finished the night 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a run scored.
The Pride will wrap-up their six game road trip along with the three game series on Sunday afternoon, when they send Hideki Nagasaka (2-0) to the mound. Quebec will pitch left-hander Eric Cyr (2-0).
