Caping for Kids begins today

[Amarillo, TX] - The community program titled "Camping for Kids", presented by Taco Villa begins today.

Gorillas General Manager Darren McLean has decided to brave the wilderness and camp out at the Amarillo Civic Center parking lot from Monday, July 31st through Friday, August 4th (7 am- 7 pm). Each day the Gorillas have invited a different local celebrity to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner alongside McLean. The Big Texan will provide breakfast, Chop Chop Japanese Steakhouse will provide lunch, and Beef O'Brady's Family Sports Pub will provide dinner.

With a $100 donation not only will individuals have the opportunity to receive 10 tickets to the Gorillas home opener, but also a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the babies of the March of Dimes. Individuals who purchase tickets will have the chance to visit with McLean as well as the local celebrities during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

"We pride ourselves on our contributions to different children's charities and organizations." Gorillas General Manager Darren McLean added, "Not only is it rewarding professionally to give back to the community, but there is no better feeling than seeing a smile on a young child's face."
