
Canucks Camp Comes to Winnipeg

Today, the Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the Vancouver Canucks, announced the Canucks will shift their NHL training camp to Winnipeg for four days from September 18-21, 2003. The mini-camp will be highlighted by the NHL exhibition game between the Vancouver Canucks and Minnesota Wild on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at 7:30 at the Winnipeg Arena.
The mini-camp will feature numerous events throughout the four days including practices each day which will be open to the media, as well as other happenings such as a golf outing with team builders and Ed Jovanoski and Todd Bertuzzi. There will be an open practice to the public on Sunday, September 21 from 12-2:00 where the fans can come out and watch Head Coach Marc Crawford put the team through their paces. Afterwards, the Canucks will skate for a half hour with Manitoba Moose team builders.
The exhibition game against the Wild will feature many of the Canucks veterans including all-stars Todd Bertuzzi, captain Markus Naslund, and defenceman Ed Jovanoski. Also confirmed to play that night are veterans Mathias Ohlund, Brendan Morrison, and Trevor Linden. Former Moose goalie and newly acquired Vancouver Canuck Johan Hedberg will also return to the Arena for first time since his days with the Moose. He will be joined in between the pipes by Alex Auld and other members of the Moose in 2002-03 such as Zenith Komarniski, and Ryan Ready. New Canucks of interest to Manitoba fans will include defenceman Kiril Koltsov and Dallas Eakins.
The Exhibition game is at 7:30 at the Winnipeg Arena on September 18, 2003. The Canucks practice schedule for the four days they are in Winnipeg is as follows:
