(Boston, MA â May 17, 2004) The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse have set their 30-man roster for the upcoming 2004 season. The Cannons roster will be divided into a 23-man active roster, from which 18 players will be selected to dress for each game, and 7-man practice squad.
To bring the roster to 30, Boston acquired both Chris Gabrielli (Defense, University of Massachusetts) and Chris Bromby (Attack, University of New Hampshire) from the player pool this afternoon.
The Cannons roster features five attackman, including reigning MLL assists leader and Cannons team Offense Player of the Year Conor Gill. Gill set an MLL single-season record with 40 assists in 2004. MLL Two-Point Goal leader Mike Regan, along with former UMass middies Chris Fiore and Kevin Leveille highlight the Cannons midfield, as well as newcomer Chris Rotelli. Ryan Curtis, the MLL's reigning Defensive Player of the Year, anchors the Cannons defense along with second-year player Michael Peyser. The Cannons will carry three goalies, Chris Garrity, Kevin O'Brien and Chris Hettler.
The Cannons officially named Brian Silcott and Curtis co-captains of the 2004 team. For Silcott this is his third year as Cannons co-captain. 2004 is the first time Curtis has held the position.
The Cannons open their season at home on Saturday May 22 at 7:00PM against defending MLL Champion Long Island. All Cannons home games are played at Boston University's Nickerson Field.

Major League Lacrosse, a six-team professional outdoor lacrosse league, was founded in 1999 by fitness entrepreneur Jake Steinfeld, CEO of Body by Jake Enterprises, and partners Dave Morrow, a former champion lacrosse player and now CEO of Warrior Lacrosse, a leading global provider of innovative and high performance lacrosse equipment; and Timothy B.
