
Canadians Throw One-Hitter En Route To 9-1 Victory

(Avista Stadium - Spokane, WA) - Four Canadians pitchers combined to limit Spokane's offense to just one hit while the bats for Vancouver pounded out 13 hits en route to a 9-1 victory over the Indians on Monday night.
Vancouver 1B Balbino Fuenmayor continued his dominance against Indians pitching going 3-for-5 with a home run, his 2nd of the season, and an RBI double. Catcher Dan Klein hit his 2nd home run of the season in the top of the 9th, scoring both RF Nick Baligod and 3B Kellen Sweeney to help extend the lead to 9-1.
Pitching took center stage as well for the Canadians on Monday as starter LHP Colton Turner (3.0IP) and LHP Bobby Brosnahan (3.0IP) made their professional debuts limiting the Spokane attack to just one hit with Indians SS Gabriel Roa grabbing an RBI double off of Turner in the top of the 3rd inning.
Veterans RHP Phil Brua (2.0IP) and RHP Drew Permison (1.0IP) pitched three innings of no-hit baseball to secure the lopsided victory.
With the win, Vancouver improves to 3-1 (.750) on the season and take their first series of the season with the final game of this five-game series set for Tuesday, June 19th at 6:35pm.
Notes: The Canadians have outscored Spokane 31-13 through the first four games of this five-game series... 1B Balbino Fuenmayor is hitting .474 (9-for-19) against the Indians... Canadians starters have limited Spokane to just four earned runs over 14 innings through this series.
