New Jersey 2, Rockland 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)
A terrific performance by New Jersey starting pitcher Steve Fox leads the Jackals to a 2-1 win over the Rockland Boulders in game one of the doubleheader. Fox went the distance going seven innings allowing only one unearned run on a hit with two walks and two strikeouts. The righty is now a perfect 4-0 on the season. LF Bryan Sabatella and 2B Matt Cusick drove in both of the Jackal runs in the third inning while the Boulders scored their lone run on a sacrifice fly from 1B Ryan Scoma in the fourth.
Rockland 3, New Jersey 0 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)
Rockland gets a sensational pitching performance from Bobby Blevins and helps the Boulders to a 3-0 win over the New Jersey Jackals in game two of the doubleheader. Blevins went all seven innings giving up only four hits, all singles, and fanned three batters. With the victory, Blevins improves his record to 3-3 on the season. Rockland 1B Ryan Scoma went 1-for-2 with two RBI and C Landis Wilson hit a solo home run.
Grand Prairie 6, Newark 4 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)
After falling behind 4-1 after three innings, the Grand Prairie AirHogs scored a run in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to rally past the Newark Bears 6-4 in game one of the doubleheader. Grand Prairie C Chris McMurray went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and a RBI. CF Keanon Simon and LF David Thomas also chipped in with two hits apiece with Thomas hitting his first home run of the season. AirHogs reliever Derrick Miramontes wins the game after tossing two scoreless innings allowing a walk while fanning one batter. For Newark in defeat, 1B Daryle Ward and CF Bryce Lane each had two hits.
Grand Prairie 2, Newark 0 (Top 3 - In Progress)
Game two of the doubleheader between Grand Prairie and Newark was still in progress with the Grand Prairie AirHogs of the American Association leading the Newark Bears 2-0 in the top of the third inning. For further updates, check canamleague.com.
