Can-Am League to Form One Division for 2006
November 18, 2005 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
New Haven County Cutters News Release
The Can-Am League has dropped its two-division alignment for the 2006 season, but will continue to split its 92-game season into two halves. Commissioner Miles Wolff said the decision was made based on a vote of the eight teams.
The new format will see the winners of the first and second halves of the season meet the two teams with the next best overall winning percentages in the first round of best-of-five playoff series. The first half winner will play the team with the lowest winning percentage between the two wild card qualifiers.
Last season, the New Haven County Cutters won the Southern Division's second half.
