Can-Am League Reveals 2019 Postseason All-Star Team

Dayton, Ohio - The Can-Am League's 2019 postseason all-stars were unveiled Saturday, as selected via a poll of league managers and media members.

Five of the six league members had selections, with Trois-Rivières, Ottawa, Sussex County and New Jersey notching three each.

Catcher: Anthony Hermelyn, Trois-Rivières. In his second season with the Aigles, Hermelyn was consistent both behind the plate and at bat, hitting .261 with 18 doubles, 9 homers and 40 RBI to help the Aigles to their best record in club history.

First Base: Audy Ciriaco, Sussex County. Ciriaco was named the league's top first baseman for the second season in a row, currently first in the league with 113 hits, second with a .328 batting average and 69 RBI, and fourth with 25 doubles. Defensively, he set a league record for first basemen by not registering an error in 582 total chances.

Second Base: Trey Hair, Sussex County. League newcomer Hair made an immediate impact with the first-place Miners, swatting 27 doubles, tied for second-most in the league, to go along with a .322 average, fourth-highest, and 27 stolen bases, fifth-highest. Hair has also appeared in all 92 of his team's games and leads league second basemen in most defensive categories.

Third Base: Conrad Gregor, New Jersey. In his third season in the league, Gregor had an outstanding campaign for the Jackals, setting a New Jersey franchise record with 48 stolen bases and leading the league with 84 runs scored. Gregor is also among the league leaders with a .326 batting average (third), 65 RBI (third) and 12 home runs (tie-fourth).

Shortstop: Santiago Chirino, New Jersey. Another Can-Am League newcomer, Chirino has been an important member of the Jackals this season, hitting .309 with 49 runs scored and 11 doubles.

Outfield: Alfredo Marte, New Jersey. The Can-Am League's Player of the Year, Marte has put together a terrific season, leading the league with 16 home runs, 87 RBI, 28 doubles and a .537 slugging percentage to go along with 67 runs scored and 104 hits, both third in the league.

Outfield: Raphaël Gladu, Trois-Rivières. Despite appearing in just 66 games for the Aigles, July's Batter of the Month is fifth in the league with 60 RBI in his first season for his hometown team. Gladu also hit .300 with 20 doubles, seven home runs and 46 runs scored.

Outfield: Steve Brown, Ottawa. Brown led the Champions with 52 RBI, seven home runs and a .297 average while making just one error in 127 outfield chances this season. An eight-year veteran of the Can-Am League, June's Batter of the Month is among the league's career leaders in hits, runs, doubles, home runs, RBI and stolen bases.

Designated Hitter: Blake Grant-Parks, Rockland. The Boulders' newcomer leads the league with a .332 average and is fifth with a .516 slugging percentage. Grant-Parks is also first on Rockland with 44 RBI in just 67 games with the team.

Pitcher: Phillippe Aumont, Ottawa. The Pitcher of the Month for July, Aumont has broken the Can-Am League's single-season record with 145 strikeouts and leads the circuit with a 2.65 ERA. The Champions' staff workhorse is also second in the league with six complete games and tied for second with 118.2 innings pitched.

Relief Pitcher: Garrett Mundell, Trois-Rivières. Mundell has been stellar in his first independent season, leading the league and breaking the Aigles franchise record with 20 saves while registering a 2.38 ERA and limiting opponents to a .205 average.

Defensive Player of the Year: Cito Culver, Rockland/Sussex County. The former New York Yankees' first-round draft pick was excellent in the field for the Boulders and Miners, making just seven errors in 301 chances and leading all shortstops with 43 double plays turned.
