New Jersey 10, Newark 3
The New Jersey Jackals scored seven big runs in the fifth inning as they beat the Newark Bears by the score of 10-3. New Jersey had 11 hits in the game with eight of the nine batters in the lineup collecting at least one. First baseman Nick Salotti went 2-for-5 for the Jackals with a run scored and two RBI. Jackals 3B Nick Giarraputo had two hits with two runs scored while SS Matt Nandin hit his seventh home run of the season in a 2-for-3 night. New Jersey starting pitcher Isaac Pavlik notched his 12th win of the season as he gave up one earned run on seven hits in seven innings pitched. Pavlik has now gone 25-5 over the last two seasons for New Jersey.
Quebec 4, Lincoln 3
Quebec keeps rolling along as the Capitales win their sixth straight and defeat the Lincoln Saltdogs, 4-3. This victory was the 64th by Quebec and ties the league record for most wins by a team in a season. Capitales 1B Rene Leveret went 2-for-4 with a run scored while 3B Josue Peley launched his 10th home run of the season in a 1-for-4 night. Quebec starting pitcher Jeff Duda tied the league record tonight for most wins in season by a pitcher with his 15th victory. Duda went 6 2/3 innings allowing two earned runs on seven hits with two walks and six strikeouts.
