Gary SouthShore 8, New Jersey 3
Gary SouthShore scored five runs over the last two innings as the RailCats rallied past the New Jersey Jackals, 8-3. Right fielder Mike Massaro had a solid game at the plate for Gary SouthShore as he went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI. RailCats 1B Mike Rohde chipped in with a two-run home run in the eighth inning to give Gary SouthShore the lead for good at 5-3. Will Krout was the winning pitcher for the RailCats as he went 7 2/3 innings allowing one earned run on nine hits with six strikeouts. It was Krout's first win of the season.
Rockland 4, Worcester 2
Rockland scored two runs in the fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie and behind a solid performance by the Boulders pitching staff beat the Worcester Tornadoes, 4-2. Bobby Blevins had a solid start for Rockland as he went seven innings giving up two earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Blevins picked up his fifth win of the season. Boulders reliever Julio F. Santana tossed a scoreless eighth inning and closer Adrian Martin pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to collect his 10th save of the season. The Rockland offense was led by 1B Ryan Scoma who went 3-for-4 with a RBI and CF Chris Valencia had a 2-for-2 game with a run scored and a run batted in.
Quebec 15, Newark 5
Quebec and Newark were deadlocked at 5-5 after two innings of play. From there it was all Capitales as they scored 10 runs over the next five innings and beat the Newark Bears, 15-5. Third baseman Jonathan Malo and CF Sebastien Boucher were the stars of the game for Quebec. Malo and Boucher combined to go 6-for-11 at the plate with two home runs, four runs scored and 10 RBI. Capitales starting pitcher John Mariotti won his eighth game of the season as he went five innings giving up three earned runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts. For Newark in defeat, CF Quentin Davis went 3-for- 5 with a double, a triple and three RBI.
