Newark 5, Pittsfield 4 (Game 2 - 8 innings)
In the fourth and final extra-innings contest of the evening the the Can-Am League, Newark took a 5-4, eight-inning victory to split its doubleheader with the Colonials. With the score tied in the top of the eighth, Bears RF Caleb Stewart got his first hit of the game, a solo home run that put Newark on top for good. It was the second home run of the game for the Bears - C Eric McGee hit a bases-empty shot in the fourth - and Stewart's fourth of the year. The Colonials took a 2-1 lead after a three-hit, two run second inning. But it was Pittsfield's last advantage of the game as Newark went on top with two runs of their own in the third. Colonials LF Billy Mottram went 3-for-4 with a run scored, leading all players in hits.
